Dear Studio b families,
We hope you are staying strong, healthy and calm during this stressful and worrisome time in our lives. The health and safety of our staff and students continues to be a top priority for us at Studio b. As COVID-19 continues to spread and affect many parts of the country, we’ve been closely monitoring local conditions. We’ve been working around the clock on several plans of action for the studio, which then have changed again and again, as official news of local and national plans have evolved rapidly. After consulting with industry leaders and following local and national recommendations, we will be making the switch to online, virtual classes.
Dancers:
Don’t worry! We have some incredible plans to keep our classes running and keep you happily dancing! We will continue to deliver the dance experience you know and love at Studio b, just in a slightly different way. Please know that your health, safety and happiness are the driving force of what we do!
Parents:
Now more than ever it’s important for your child to have normalcy and routine. The last thing we all want for our children is for them to lose their social and physical well-being. We need them to be active, move, use their mind and still interact socially with their peers. Below is a glimpse at what we will provide for you and your dancers in this unprecedented time. More specific details will be released closer to the end of our spring break.
Weekly Dance Classes:
Thanks to technology, we will be opening our digital doors and providing you with an online dance experience to keep our dancers moving, learning, interacting with their friends and having fun during this time. We ask that all currently enrolled students’ families join our closed facebook group, Studio b Dance Families, where we will continue to provide resources and links. Additionally, there will be a password-protected dance family section of our website for all currently enrolled dancers, with links to dance classes, bonus resources, fun activities, and more! Your weekly class videos will be emailed to you to take ‘live’ via an online platform with our staff from the safety of your home, and a follow-up email with recorded video links with recital choreography will also be sent each week. Our goal is to KEEP DANCING!
April Tuition:
In order to provide you the best service and continual education possible, we will proceed with processing the final spring dance tuition installment on April 6 as scheduled, at the reduced rate of 40% off. This will allow us to pay our fantastic staff and instructors during this time, who will be working extra hard to provide these resources to your dancers to keep them moving and dancing. If you are facing financial difficulties due to layoffs, reduced work hours, or another reason related to COVID-19, please reach out to us. We understand the potential impact this is going to have for some of our families. As a small business in our local community, we hope to come out of this stronger, more resilient, flexible and able to think outside of the box, and ultimately to be able to continue providing top-notch service and classes to you and your family for many more years to come.
Recital:
We know your dancer has been looking forward to recital as much as we have! With such uncertainty and many things adjusting daily, the date and format may change, and we are working diligently with our venue to plan ahead the best we can at this time. We are all taking this day-by-day and working through what we can, when we can.
Ticket sales that were to begin early April will be suspended at this time, until we can know with more certainty about moving forward with our recital plans. We ask for your patience and grace with us as we follow and adhere to local and federal regulations. We remain positive and hopeful that we can still provide a wonderful spring session experience for you and your dancer!
We are still waiting on and receiving the rest of our recital costumes. If your dancer has not gotten theirs, don’t worry! We are working with the company to ensure that all costumes arrive as they’re available to us.
Studio b Dance Team Members & b.boppers:
Please look for further communication coming your way regarding team-specific information.
Fitness Classes:
We miss seeing all of you at the studio each week! Look for a schedule of live virtual classes to be coming your way. For pre-recorded videos to get you moving at home now, go to StudiobLafayette.com/fitness-resources and stay plugged into the Fitness Friends facebook group.
Thank you!
Please know that we are here for you and your family during this time. We appreciate the support and love we have received thus far and know that with all of you, we can make it through this as the strong and loving community we are. Sending you all (virtual) hugs and positive vibes!
Sincerely,
Brooke and the Studio b staff
