phrase that inspires you: b • fun

There are so many obstacles in our lives that can easily distract us from what we really want.  I personally want to laugh loudly and have as much fun as I possibly can.  Pretty simple.  No matter what is happening in my life or in the lives of those around me, laughter really does cure.  It can’t stop there though.  While I love to laugh, making others happy and helping them forget about whatever problems they may be dealing with at that moment is much more rewarding.  Anyone can laugh, but to share that laughter with someone else and help better their day is priceless.  So, don’t be afraid to get a little silly and have a little fun!  “A day without laughter is a day wasted."

what inspired you to start leading fitness classes?

I started my own fitness journey about six years ago and will forever be grateful to the instructors that led the classes I took. Watching them and feeding off of their positive energy helped me stay motivated and made it possible for me to achieve my own goals.  When I started my current job I got to see first-hand what it was like to help someone reach their own health and fitness goals by observing my fellow team members.  Seeing people not only lose weight and feeling comfortable in their own skin, but also watching someone take the stairs for the first time in years made such a huge impact on me that I knew I wanted to help too.  If even to just put a smile on someone’s face after a long day.

what keeps you motivated?

Knowing that what I’m doing helps everyone, including myself.  I love helping participants discover new things they never knew they could do or accomplish, getting them out of their comfort zone and seeing their own accomplishments.  Plus, as a bonus, helping them also helps me and my family by keeping me motivated to make sure my own health and fitness goals stay in check so that I’m physically able to do as much as possible.  I am always happy and eager to help!

what do you do when you're not teaching fitness classes?

I truly enjoy the simple things in life.  Spending time with my family and friends is at the top of my priority list.  Whether it’s lying by the pool at my parents, watching a movie with my kids and husband or a spending a night out dancing with my friends, I love being surrounded by loved ones.    I also enjoy reading a good book, doing color runs and mud runs, and trying new classes that are outside of my comfort zone.

why do you teach at studio b?

When I first walked into Studio b I was of course nervous because I was in a new environment and surrounded by people I didn’t know.  That lasted all of 30 seconds.  The staff here is incredible and I immediately felt comfortable and knew I had found the right place for me and my daughter.  This is a great place where anyone and everyone can come and not be afraid to be themselves or feel as though they are being judged.
