what inspired you to start leading fitness classes?

When I was in eighth grade the high school dance team came to perform and recruit new members to audition for the upcoming year.  I had no formal experience and the thought of being in front of a large group was beyond my comfort zone, but I had a strong desire to find an activity to participate in while in high school.  I focused, learned the routines, and mustered up all the courage I had and I made the team. I continued to dance all four years of high school and for many years after.

My decision to take a path towards dance allowed me the opportunity to be a member of a studio dance team for three years, a studio dance instructor for four years, and a coach/instructor for three different school dance teams for six years.  I have met many amazing and inspirational people through dance and I still carry my passion for dance with me today.

After the birth of my second child, I had to find new ways to balance life. I no longer had time to commit to instructing or coaching dance. Through a friend, I joined an online group of people encouraging one another in fitness and nutrition. I have been a member since 2016. The focus of the group is how to care for your body, how to provide the best nutrition, and to participate in at-home workouts to maintain an active lifestyle around life’s busy schedule. Now that my children are older, I am embracing the opportunity to participate in the fitness classes at Studio B and I am thrilled to be an instructor and help others achieve their goals of getting and staying healthy!

what keeps you motivated?

Dancing and being active makes me feel good physically and mentally.  I want to dance and be active for as long as my body will allow.  I celebrate my ability to use my body.  I want to set an example for my two daughters to live a healthy active lifestyle and achieve whatever they strive for.
