April 28, 2020
Dear Studio b families,
We hope you are staying well during this time. We continue to miss you every day and look forward to our time with you in virtual classes! We have had countless messages that the Zoom classes are keeping your students engaged, moving and having fun. Our staff has been leading the way to make sure our dancers and fitness participants know they are loved and supported through this time of social-distancing. Thank you for continuing to support us and your dancers during this time.
As we prepare for the end of our spring dance session, we would like to share our thoughts and plans, as we are committed to finishing the season strong. We recognize that there are many timelines that are still unclear and we are asking for continued flexibility. Health and safety are our top priority and we will continue to follow the guidelines from the state of Indiana on how to proceed.
Virtual Classes:
We will continue to hold our virtual dance classes through May 22. This allows our students to continue dancing and stay connected to their instructors and friends. Our instructors will focus on the finishing touches of recital choreography, as well as dance fundamentals and class interaction for your dancers at home. We encourage you to keep attending class on a weekly basis, and should you need assistance with logging in or accessing any of our resources, please email us at office@StudiobLafayette.com so that we can help you remotely. If your dancer is having difficulty with the live class, we are providing recordings of each weekly class directly to enrolled families so dancers can review on their own time, and more than once if desired. These files are not to be shared and are for the sole purpose of providing material to your dancer. Class recordings will be accessible for one week, and then are deleted when the next one is recorded. Please continue to practice safe online habits with your dancer.
Recital 2020: “b energized”- Reimagined
The Tippecanoe County Health Department has ordered all mass community events/gatherings to be canceled or postponed through June 30. Therefore, our recital that was scheduled for May 23 at Jeff High School will not be possible in the planned format, venue, or date. Additionally, dress rehearsal/photos will not be held on May 16.
We are currently reimagining our recital celebration by working through potential contingency plans. We are committed to provide some type of performance or celebration for our dancers to conclude this spring session. We appreciate your continued patience as we follow state and local regulations while trying to navigate through the ever-changing timeline we all find ourselves in.
Costumes:
The majority of our students have received their costumes. A few remaining are yet to be distributed to students. Once we are able to receive all remaining costumes we will be arranging days and times for drive through pick up, with social distancing and safety precautions in place. All of our recital costumes were ordered from our vendor in January. Per our standard studio policy and with vendors, costumes are non-refundable. These are yours to keep and we still plan to celebrate dance in them.
There is a saying, “Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass. It’s about learning to dance in the rain.” We feel that this tumultuous time in life is a storm of sorts, but through it all, we continue to dance together and we hope that this provides you and your dancer some solace and comfort amongst so many unknowns. We are here for you. Let’s keep dancing.
Sincerely,
Brooke and the Studio b Staff
