What "b" phrase inspires you?
b.flexible
There comes a time in life when being flexible is all you need to achieve what you already know. Being flexible with my time has given me extra time in my life to spend with my daughter Aleya, go to school, work, and have time for my family. Being flexible with my attitude has given me a better happier outlook on life. To be flexible physically can help you do different activities to help you grow physically as a dancer or an individual. Life often gives you new opportunities to branch out to new obstacles you never saw coming; being flexible can help you grasp those opportunities. Being flexible spiritually can help you keep an open heart to new balances.
When did you begin?
Ever since I was in diapers my parents would always say that my normal sitting position was a straddle playing board games or watching TV. When I was two years old a tumble bus used to come to my daycare. From then on I was doing cartwheels, splits, summersaults, handstands anywhere I could I was unstoppable. My mother started me in a beginner class at Gymnastics Unlimited, where I continued to utilize my skills and create discipline. At the age of six, I started competitive club gymnastics, level 4 at the Dance Refinery. As I moved forward through to the years to level 8 then to high school gymnastics, I really started to love bringing dance and tumbling together in my floor routines and I also enjoyed the gracefulness and elegance of the balance beam.
What keeps you motivated?
What keeps me motivated is knowing that my students are having fun, learning new tricks, and achieve goals that they have set. Growing up, I had a coach in gymnastics that always believed in me and pushed me to be the best I could be. I will never forget the energy of his motivation. I often refer back to his methods of energetic teaching. I really enjoy teaching and passing on my knowledge of proper technique to help my students master the tricks safely.
What is your professional background?
I have a wide rage of professional background that helps me with my job at Studio b. I've managed a private recreation center, worked in HR, taught many types of fitness classes, and so much more.
Why do you teach at Studio b?
I love teaching at Studio b because I love being there! I enjoy going to work, and when I am there it never feels like work. Everyone I work with is very talented and a joy to be around. It is the place to b employed!
Fun fact:
I try to spend as much time as I can with my daughter and son. I am also pursuing my passion in creating artwork. Every painting and drawing is made in mind to help animals in need. I have teamed up with the ASPCA to help animals in emergency situations.
