What "b" phrase inspires you?
b.fun!
There are so many obstacles in our lives that can easily distract us from what we really want. I personally want to laugh loudly and have as much fun as I possibly can - Pretty simple! And while I love to laugh, making others happy and helping them forget about whatever problems they may be dealing with is even more rewarding. Sharing that laughter with someone else and help better their day is priceless. So, don’t be afraid to get a little silly and have a little fun! “A day without laughter is a day wasted."
Why do you teach dance & fitness?
Knowing that what I’m doing helps everyone, including myself. I love helping participants discover new things they never knew they could do or accomplish, getting them out of their comfort zone and seeing their own accomplishments. I am always happy and eager to help and push fitness and dance participants!
When did you begin in dance & fitness?
In 4th grade I started gymnastics and tumbling and began dancing in high school when I made the pom squad.
Fitness became a big part of my life in 2009 when I decided that I needed to lose the baby weight. :) I fell in love with the group classes and was hooked. When my family decided to move back home a couple years later, I decided that I wanted to find a job in the fitness industry and possibly give instructing a try. I have been a certified AFAA Group Fitness Instructor since 2011.
What keeps you motivated?
Loving what I do keeps my motivated. Knowing that the mental and physical health benefits that I gain through dance and fitness help keep me happy also keeps me motivated. I'm sure my family appreciates me at my happiest too. :)
What is your professional background?
I have a wide rage of professional background that helps me with my job at Studio b. I've managed a private recreation center, worked in HR, taught many types of fitness classes, and so much more.
Why do you work at Studio b?
When I first walked into Studio b I was of course nervous because I was in a new environment and surrounded by people I didn’t know. That lasted all of 30 seconds. The staff here is incredible and I immediately felt comfortable and knew I had found the right place to become my home away from home. This is a great place where anyone and everyone can come and not be afraid to be themselves or feel as though they are being judged. I love what I do and I do what I love!
Fun fact:
I truly enjoy the simple things in life. Spending time with my family and friends is at the top of my priority list. Whether it’s lying by the pool at my parents, watching a movie with my kids and husband or playing with my three dogs (Phoebe, Monica, and Chandler... I love my Friends).
