Costumes, Shoes & Tights

Costumes!  The best part of recital!

A costume will be ordered for each dancer unless we are notified by January 19 that a student will not be performing.  The costume fee will be processed on January 20.  Costume fee ranges from $65 - $80 depending on the class type and age and includes a full costume, any additional accessories, tights and a garment bag to keep your dancer organized and prepared for the big performance!

In order for each class to look polished and unified onstage, a pair of the required tights is included with your costume. We ask that parents purchase the correct color and style of Studio b dance shoes for each class.

Recital Videos

New this year!  All families who participate in the Spring Recital will receive digital files of every performance of the Spring 2020 Recital!  We want you to have the best quality video of your dancer performing on stage!

Please do not take photographs or video record during the actual performance of our Spring Recital.  Cameras can block the view of others and be extremely disruptive. The light emitted from cell phone cameras is distracting to everyone behind you and any flash will be distracting and potentially dangerous to the performers.

All performers will wear their hair in a bun on the crown of their head - one hairstyle for all students makes it easier for students in multiple performances.

All dancers should arrive for both the dress rehearsal and the recital wearing the first costume they will perform in and with hair and makeup done. Our online video tutorial has step by step instructions to help you and your dancer.

For your convenience, bun kits are available for purchase at the studio - everything you need in one kit!

Bun Kits

$13 +tax  includes:

bun former

hair ties

several bobby pins

We would like all dancers to wear some makeup to not appear washed out onstage. Black mascara and eye shadow in the shades of plum or gray are recommended. Cheeks should be a pretty pink with a red lip.  Older dancers’ makeup should be applied heavier for stage. Remember, the lights are very bright and without makeup, faces become washed out from afar.

For your convenience, makeup kits are available for purchase at the studio - everything you need in one kit!

Makeup Kits

$32 +tax  includes:

eye shadow

makeup brushes

pencil sharpener

clear plastic makeup bag

Dress Rehearsal

Dress Rehearsal/Photo Day:

Saturday, May 16 @ Studio b

Dress Rehearsal and Recital Photos will take place at Studio b on Saturday, May 16.

Each class is given a specific time for their rehearsal and class photos. Please click below for the class check-in times. All dancers participating in the show are required to attend the Dress Rehearsal.

Students should report to Studio b at their scheduled check-in time on Dress Rehearsal day.  All performers should come to the Dress Rehearsal fully dressed in their recital costume, with hair and makeup done.  If you are in more than one performance, please come dressed for your first rehearsal costume/photo session and bring the rest of your costumes (don't forget to label your shoes, tights and costumes!).

Every performing student will have a recital fee of $46 processed automatically on May 4. (Family max charge of $120.)

The recital fee includes

2 complimentary recital tickets per show a dancer performs in

A full-color program memory book

A special gift at the end of the show

New This Year! Digital video files of every routine in all three shows!

Recital Photos

We take individual and class photos on dress rehearsal day for the convenience of our dancers and parents.

May 16 Dress Rehearsal/Photo Schedule

Recital Photos: Ed Lausch of Lausch Photography will be taking photos during our dress rehearsal. Individual photos will be taken of each student and a group photo will be taken of each class.  Group photos will not be retaken, so please don't be late to your photo time!

Photo order forms will be distributed at the studio by the week of April 6. Please return them by April 30.

Photos and video recording are allowed during dress rehearsal only - not the recital.

Recital Memory Books

Give a shout out to your favorite dancer in this year’s recital memory book! This full color, full size program, is a great way to highlight your dancer or give them a shout out.  It's also a great way to advertise your business. You can review the pricing and guidelines for submitting your "shout-out" using our Recital Memories Form Artwork and shout-out text are due by March 15.

Recital Program Business Ads

We would love to include your business in this year's Recital Program Memory Book. When you advertise in the Recital Program, you can share your message with our family-focused audience. Click here for advertising rates and more info.

Show Assignments

We have 3 different shows on recital day; we do not perform the same show twice.  Each class performs once and each recital show is unique.

Every performing student will receive an email with a ticket code good for two complimentary tickets. The direct link to purchase tickets will be posted and emailed out in early April.

Once you receive your code, enter it upon checkout through the online ticket ordering system to receive the two complimentary tickets per performing student.

While on the website, you can easily purchase more tickets for family and friends; complimentary tickets and additional ticket purchases should be completed in one transaction. The ticket code will reduce the cost at checkout for two tickets.

Tickets are $14 each.  Tickets for any seats remaining on the day of recital will be for sale at the door: $20 (cash or check only for tickets sold on recital day).

Location - Dress Rehearsal

Please note that this year's Dress Rehearsal will take place at Studio b.  Each routine will run the routine in the blue room and class photos will be taken in the green room.
